The ersto-Hygienesystem by ERST GmbH is a biocide-free system solution comprising three coordinated components: erstoclean for thorough cleaning, erstosan for microbe-inhibiting surface protection and erstoshield as a gel-based long-term component for critical moisture-exposed areas. The products can be used individually or as a coordinated system for sanitary, technical, ventilation and hygiene-sensitive areas. Developed and manufactured in Germany.

Professional hygiene requires more than cleaning

Moisture, condensation, organic residues and recurring exposure can create challenging conditions in hygiene-sensitive areas of buildings, commercial environments and technical installations.

The ersto-Hygienesystem by ERST GmbH provides a professional, biocide-free system solution based on three coordinated components for cleaning, microbe-inhibiting surface care and long-term prevention.

In many buildings and operational environments, hygiene-related challenges are not caused by visible soiling alone. They result from the interaction of several factors, including moisture, condensation, restricted air circulation, organic residues, hard-to-access areas and recurring use.

Conventional cleaning products primarily remove contamination from the surface. Where moisture, warmth and organic residues repeatedly occur, however, conditions favourable to microbial contamination can develop again.

This is where the ersto-Hygienesystem comes in: with a coordinated system approach combining cleaning, microbe-inhibiting surface care and a gel-based long-term component for critical areas.

Three components – one coordinated system

The ersto-Hygienesystem consists of three products that can be used individually or as part of a coordinated system. Their particular strength lies in the combination of thorough initial cleaning, regular microbe-inhibiting surface care and targeted long-term treatment of critical areas.

Step 1: erstoclean – thorough cleaning as the foundation

erstoclean is the strongly grease-dissolving system cleaner within the ersto-Hygienesystem. Its primary function is the thorough cleaning and preparation of contaminated surfaces.

It supports the removal of:

  • organic residues and deposits

  • fats, oils and dirt films

  • moisture-related contamination

  • use-related contamination on technical and commercial surfaces

Thorough cleaning is essential because microbe-inhibiting protective films and long-term treatments can only perform as intended on adequately prepared surfaces.

erstoclean therefore creates the clean foundation for subsequent treatment with the other system components.

Typical areas of application include sanitary and washing areas, basements and ancillary rooms, technical and operational areas, ventilation and air-conditioning areas, machinery and plant environments, and storage and logistics areas.

Step 2: erstosan – microbe-inhibiting protection for suitable surfaces

erstosan is the microbe-inhibiting surface-care component of the system.

Following cleaning with erstoclean, erstosan forms a thin, microbe-inhibiting protective film on suitable surfaces. This supports hygienic surface stability and can help reduce rapid renewed contamination.

The product has a biocide-free formulation and is based on specialised chitosan biopolymer complexes. Its functional principle does not rely on aggressive oxidation chemistry and is designed for material-friendly application.

One of the advantages of erstosan is its flexible application. It can be used on directly accessible surfaces as well as in areas that are difficult to reach manually, including ventilation and air-conditioning areas, technical zones, inspection and access areas, machinery and plant environments, and complex interior surfaces.

Depending on the relevant technical guidance, erstosan can be applied by spraying or by cold fogging in approved areas.

Step 3: erstoshield – gel-based long-term component for critical areas

erstoshield is the gel-based long-term component of the ersto-Hygienesystem.

It has been developed for moisture-exposed, critical or repeatedly affected surfaces where a more robust and longer-lasting microbe-inhibiting surface treatment is required.

Following thorough preparation with erstoclean, erstoshield is applied in a thin layer to suitable surfaces. Its gel-like formulation supports a longer-lasting microbe-inhibiting surface function and is particularly suited to areas with an increased need for preventive treatment.

Typical applications include moisture-exposed wall and ceiling areas, surfaces affected by condensation, areas with recurring mould problems, basements and ancillary rooms exposed to persistent moisture, critical wall, ceiling and junction areas, and preventive treatment following thorough cleaning.

Individually usable – particularly strong as a system

The three components can be combined flexibly depending on the surface, exposure and existing hygiene concept.

erstoclean + erstosan is suitable for regular microbe-inhibiting surface care and hard-to-access areas.

erstoclean + erstoshield is designed for critical moisture-exposed areas and longer-term preventive treatment.

erstoclean + erstosan + erstoshield provides a comprehensive system approach combining cleaning, surface care and targeted treatment of critical zones.

Typical areas of application

The ersto-Hygienesystem has been developed for a broad range of hygiene-sensitive environments outside the specialised ASPEREX target markets, including sanitary and moisture-exposed rooms, basements and ancillary rooms, technical and operational areas, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, storage and logistics areas, hygiene-sensitive working environments, moisture-exposed working and technical areas, and hard-to-access technical zones.

Supported by external expertise – developed and manufactured in Germany

The development of the ersto-Hygienesystem is supported by external scientific expertise. Input from chemistry, natural sciences, food technology, biotechnology and related disciplines contributes to the evaluation and further development of product functions and application concepts.

Development and production take place in Germany

The product range follows a biocide-free, biophysical approach and is designed for material-friendly use without aggressive oxidation chemistry.

Technical documentation and advice

Product-specific technical information, application guidance and documentation are available for professional applications, including technical data sheets, safety data sheets and system information for all three components.
