About erstoplast
Water-Impermeable Renovation Plaster for Moisture-Exposed Masonry

erstoplast is a water-impermeable, cement-based renovation plaster for the remediation of damp or water-saturated masonry surfaces, including areas exposed to water under pressure. It is suitable for interior and exterior use and is resistant to positive and negative water pressure (up to approx. 1 bar, according to the test report).

Due to its special structure:

  • It supports the drying of moisture-affected masonry

  • allows water vapour to diffuse

  • prevents water ingress

  • creates a durable substrate suitable for further compatible coatings.

How does erstoplast work?

1. Waterproof matrix
The cementitious binder composite forms a water-impermeable structure which: blocks water under pressure, limits capillary moisture penetration and supports the drying of moisture-affected mineral substrates.

2. Diffusion openness

Despite its water-impermeable structure, the plaster remains vapour-permeable:

  • Water vapour can escape

  • The vapour-permeable structure supports the drying of moisture-affected masonry.

3. Adhesive and compressive strength

Thanks to its mineral structure, erstoplast offers:

  • high tensile adhesion strength

  • crack resistance

  • compressive strength

  • suitability for highly exposed areas

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About erstoplast

Can erstoplast be applied to wet walls?

Yes, the plaster is specially designed for damp and wet surfaces.

How quickly can the substrate dry?

The drying process depends on the degree of moisture exposure, substrate condition, component structure and ambient conditions. erstoplast supports drying through its vapour-permeable system structure.

Is erstoplast a classic renovation plaster?

erstoplast combines a water-impermeable structure with vapour permeability and resistance to positive and negative water pressure of up to approximately 1 bar, according to the relevant test report.

Can erstoplast be overcoated?

Yes. erstoplast can be overcoated with suitable, system-compatible coating systems, subject to the relevant product and substrate requirements.

Is a horizontal barrier still necessary?

In cases of rising damp, an additional horizontal barrier may be advisable – depending on the extent of the damage.
